Raising a puppy from 4 to 6 months
Your puppy has passed the first stage of his life. Now it is completely independent and must learn some new commands. Now you must train your puppy to sit down after hearing the command “Sit”.
In order for the puppy to execute the command, you must give the command to “Sit” to lift the yummy in front of the muzzle, and then bring it back a little so that the puppy lifts its head to look at or eat it. You can slightly press on the croup. As soon as the pup sits down, immediately praise, or treat the baby.Usually dogs quickly learn this command, but, nevertheless, for some time it is necessary to fix the performance with praise. To consolidate the skill, give the command before feeding or walking.
In order for the puppy to be active, cheerful and easier to learn commands, it needs a quality food that contains all the necessary vitamins and minerals. Each breeder decides this question independently, some choose to feed the dog with natural food with the addition of vitamins, while others choose industrial feed. It should be remembered that if you decide to feed your dog industrial food, then for good health it needs quality food, so we recommend buying dog food from trusted companies. The puppy must get enough food for it. Over-feeding is no better than under-feeding. The right amount of food is selected based on the age of the puppy and its weight, but in the process you will see more clearly whether the puppy eats or needs to increase/decrease the portion.
Only after complete and unquestioning execution of the “Sit” command, proceed to the next “Lie” command.
Sit the puppy at the left foot and, showing the yummy, bring your hand down and forward so that the puppy tries to reach the food. At the same time, keep it from getting up. As soon as the puppy lies down, it is necessary to fix it in this position, treat it and praise it with the command “Good”. Be sure to practice performing the “Lie down” command from different positions and in different places. Then teach them how to execute a command by gesture.
The next step in training a puppy is to descend and climb stairs. Fix the baby with a leash and insure against falls. Encourage with the “Forward” command, slow down with the “Quiet” command, and perform the appropriate motivating movements with the leash. Train on various stairs, ascents, descents, otherwise the puppy will get used to one ladder and fear of others.
You can also teach your dog to jump over a barrier, as well as to walk on a bar or Board. The barrier should not be high, you can only increase the height to the dog’s growth from 7 months. During the walk, encourage the baby to jump over obstacles, giving the command “Barrier” reinforce the command with the movement of the leash.
While walking on the beam, hold the puppy under the tummy, and lead the yummy in front of the nose. As the puppy Matures, the length of the bar should increase, and the width should decrease.
If your child has memorized and is already performing several commands – complicate the task. For example. Sit the puppy down, and start moving away a couple of steps, if he tries to get up – repeat first. Complication-move away in different directions, increasing the distance. Sometimes praise yummy, sometimes call and caress. Do the same with other commands. Success in hard work!
