The trend of modern European zoos is to promote the preservation of “captive” animals, at least to some extent, of their natural behavior. The direct purpose of such assistance is ethics in relation to animals, and the indirect purpose is to prevent their aggressive behavior and self-harm. This idea is reflected in the term behavioral enrichment of animals in the environment. It doesn’t matter whether the dog entered your home as an adult or as a puppy, it requires education, just like a growing child.
But it is not enough to teach the dog the rules and commands, it is much more important to establish a friendly relationship with it. Continue reading
